The following are the objectives of the PSCRS:

1. Maintain the highest standards of surgical practice.
2. Promote the advancement of the science and art of surgery of the colon and rectum.
3. Maintain a high standard of education and training in this subspecialty.
4. Foster a program of research.
5. Safeguard the professional interests and welfare of its Fellows.
6. Assist in health care programs of national agencies.
7. Cultivate among its Fellows the spirit of cordiality and brotherhood.
